Zuari Industries Limited (ZIL) and Envien International Limited of the Envien Group, with headquarters in Slovakia, entered into binding agreements to jointly develop, build, own, and run a 150 KLPD grain-based distillery in Uttar Pradesh and supply ethanol to oil marketing companies as part of the government of India’s ethanol blending programme.
The distillery will be built in Aira, Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, and it is anticipated that it would start making money by the middle of 2024.
Around 2000 people will have direct and indirect work as a result of the distillery. Zuari Envien Bioenergy Pvt Ltd, which will own and manage the project as a joint venture (JV) business, is putting the distillery into action.
The JV will explore organic and inorganic growth prospects to scale up the production of ethanol to ~1000 KLPD in near future.
