A new branch has been established by city-based auto component manufacturer Lokesh Machines to produce defence and aerospace components.
The first phase of the company’s investment in Hyderabad’s greenfield facility will be more than Rs 100 crore, which will be used to manufacture guns and their accessories.
As exports start in the future, this investment will be expanded up even more.
The new division in Medchal was opened by Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, a former head of the DRDO and Scientific Advisor to Raksha Mantri.
With the help of the Indian Army and ARDE (a division of DRDO), the business has successfully built small guns. The MHA and other Military have thoroughly tested these weapons.
The trails have been successful and they have been recommended for further purchase and exploitation.
