Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) is searching for a consultant who can help the government put up concentrated solar power plants around the state in order to reach the 150 megawatt solar power objective in the upcoming 24 months. The government must swiftly erect utility-scale solar power plants on public property or on government structures because Goans are strongly against rooftop solar installations. “The government wants to appoint a consultant who can prepare a techno-feasibility study for setting up of grid-connected solar power plants,” said GEDA member secretary Sanjeev Joglekar. “The consultant will have to identify the available government land, the nearest substation, and the type of technology for the solar power plant.”
