A tariff-based competitive bidding process resulted in two interstate energy transmission projects being awarded to state-owned Power Grid Corporation. According to a BSE filing, Electricity Grid Corporation of India Ltd. has been named the successful bidder for the establishment of two interstate transmission systems on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis. It won the contract for the Western Area Expansion Scheme-XXVII project (WRES-XXVII). The project involves building a 400-kV D/C transmission line through Chhattisgarh and extending the bays at two sub-stations that are already in place. Also, it was awarded a project called the Western Region Expansion Scheme- XXVIII & XXIX (WRES-XXIX). Two existing sub-stations in Chhattisgarh will receive 220 kV electricity as part of the project’s bay extension construction.
