Air India signs 470 aircraft deal with Airbus, Boeing; here's why world is calling it 'historic' | MintIn addition to giving a boost to original equipment manufacturers like aircraft giants Airbus and Boeing, Air India‘s historic 470-aircraft purchase will also present chances for equipment and technology providers like Thales, which offers avionics services to Air India. Thales India’s Vice President and Country Director, Ashish Saraf, announced that the business will soon open an avionics and in-flight entertainment system maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in India. “On the aviation side, we are already working to establish an MRO in India. So we had announced that last year, but now we can see that now it’s concrete to a level where we have already launched a site selection, and very soon we will be announcing where we will be in terms of our MRO,” said Saraf.
