The centre has focused on developing 100 industrial clusters in close conjunction with the states,a senior official said.The Gati Shakti national master plan will be used by the Center and the relevant states to identify infrastructure deficiencies in a region that is between 150 and 200 kilometres away from a cluster that is home to a significant project and work to close the gap. “This is in sync with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘area-based’ development approach. The number of such clusters will go up as we move ahead,” Sumita Dawra, special secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), told reporters.
