Aranayak Fuel and Power, a company established by a group of entrepreneurs from Uttar Pradesh, will produce hydrogen for roughly Rs 700 per kilogramme using 30 TPD of biomass (wood waste). Prof. Preetham Singh of the IIT, BHU, provides the technology through his company, Biezel Green Energy. A “thermally accelerated anerobic digestor” (TAD), developed by Prof. Singh, is a reactor that turns biomass into bio-coal, hydrogen, and methane. The reactor would need 30 kWhr of electricity and 30 kg of biomass to produce 1 kg of fuel-cell grade hydrogen and other byproducts. In order to build a 3.5 TPD of biomass-based green hydrogen using Biezel Green’s technology, Swaraj Green Power and Fuel Ltd, supported by Ranjeetsinha Hindurao Naik-Nimbalkar, a BJP MP from Madha, Maharashtra, is investing around Rs 100 crore.
