Himachal Pradesh receives Rs 225 crore as first installment for bulk drag park

The first tranche of a grant-in-aid worth Rs 225 crore has been given to the Himachal Pradesh government for the construction of a bulk drug park in the Una district. The central government’s Department of Pharmaceuticals awarded the grant-in-aid in accordance with the requirements of the Promotion of Bulk Drug Park Program. The bulk drug park, according to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, is “a project of national importance and important for bolstering the state’s current pharma ecosystem.” In a statement released, he said the state government will ensure prompt project execution, taking into account the investment potential of between Rs 8000–10,000 crore and estimated employment prospects for more than 15,000 people.
