Coal India floats tender for 20 MW captive solar power plant

A 20 Megawatt (AC) grid-connected solar PV plant has been requested for captive use by Bharat Coking Coal Ltd (BCCL), another subsidiary of state-owned coal miner Coal India Ltd, by CIL Navikarniya Urja Limited (CNUL), a fully owned subsidiary of Coal India Ltd. The project will be developed in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district in the BCCL’s Dugdha Washery neighbourhood. For the purpose of establishing the 20 MW project through the hiring of an EPC contractor, CNUL has been selected as the project management consultant. The 20 MW (AC)/28 MWp (DC) solar plant, as well as the transmission line/cable from the plant take-off point to the interconnecting substations and bays at substations, are all included in the scope of work for the EPC contractor.
