The Madurai metro’s Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been the subject of a Rs 3 crore tender from the Tamil Nadu government. 120 days must pass before the DPR is due. In place of the traditional metro coaches, Metro Lite would be provided to the city, according to a feasibility analysis that was recently filed to the government. Both an improved tram and a downgraded metro can be compared to Metro Lite. There would be three coaches on each train. According to the alignment provided in the feasibility report, the metro light service would run for 31 kilometres, from Tirumangalam to Othakadai. At Tirumangalam, on a 45-acre plot, would be the depot for train repair.
