The civil aviation ministry indicated that key details, particularly those relating to land availability for the proposed Sabarimala airport, are now being investigated.
The Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation Ltd (KSIDC), acting on behalf of the Keralan government, had provided the information.

The Kottayam district of Kerala plans to construct the greenfieldSabarimala International Airport in Erumely, close to the Sabarimala temple. Cheruvally Estate, which formerly housed a rubber plantation, is where the proposed airport would be built.
