Dindigul Steel Rolling Mills (DSRM) is planning to undertake an expansion project of its steel melting shop and steel rolling mill located in Sannadu Pudukkottai, Kayathar, Thoothukkudi, Tamil Nadu. The main objective of the project is to meet the rising demand for steel products like rods, angles, squares, flats, channels & rounds in both the domestic and export markets. To achieve this, DSRM intends to increase its induction furnace capacity from 4.5 TPH to 15 Tons, which will help to melt scrap and sponge iron and manufacture 72,000 TPA of MS billets and 71,850 TPA of steel rods and structural components. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.40 million and the construction is expected to begin in October 2023 and end by November 2024. Currently, the environment clearance for the project is underway as of February 2023.
