RWE orders two 100 MW PEM from Linde Engineering

Linde Engineering has been contracted by RWE to supply two 100-megawatt proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysers for GET H2, a hydrogen project in Lingen, Germany.

RWE intends to start up the first of two plants in 2024 on the site of its Lingen gas-fired power plant. The second plant is set to begin operations a year later.

The two electrolysers are part of RWE’s GET H2 effort to build 300 MW of electrolyser capacity in Lingen by 2026. The electrolyzers will generate green hydrogen for industrial customers by using renewable electricity.

Since May 2021, RWE’s four hydrogen projects have been shortlisted for funding for Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI).
