The Union Cabinet authorised the establishment of seven Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel Parks with a total investment of Rs 4,445 crore over a five-year period to strengthen India’s position on the global textiles map.
The Union Budget for 2021-22 introduced Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) parks.
The parks will be built on greenfield/brownfield areas in several willing states.
An official release said,”Proposals of state governments having ready availability of contiguous and encumbrance-free land parcels of 1,000 plus acres along with other textiles related facilities ecosystem are welcome.”
