The road connection between Mumbai and Goa is expected to be upgraded to ‘express’ status soon. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced the development of a new access-controlled high-speed motorway between Mumbai and Goa, similar to the Mumbai-Pune motorway and the Samruddhi Corridor to Nagpur.
Speaking at a public event in Mumbai, Chief Minister Shinde also stated that the motorway will be built from scratch.
The development of another highway between Mumbai and Goa is nearing completion. The final decision on the new greenfield expressway shall have to be announced by the central government.
