The long-awaited first metro line to Navi Mumbai is about to begin accepting commercial passengers. The testing from Central Park to Belapur stations was successful, according to a statement made by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO).
The Phase I trial between the Central Park and Pendhar stations was completed early and received approval from the Metro Railway Safety Commissioner (CMRS).
Now that the Central Park-Belapur Phase II testing have been completed successfully, commercial operations on Metro Line No. 1 to Navi Mumbai are anticipated to start soon.
“A trial run was held earlier between Central Park and Pendhar and now we have completed the trial from Central Park to Belapur. Very soon, operations of metro line number one will commence,”
Chairman and Managing Director of CIDCO, Sanjay Mukherjee, said.
