Consultancy deal for new railway line inked between India and Bangladesh

Under a government of India Route of Credit, a new direct rail line from Bogura to Sirajganj in Bangladesh would be built (LoC). On September 27, in Dhaka, a deal was struck between Bangladesh Railway and an Indian joint venture firm as a first step toward this goal.

The agreement was signed at Rail Bhawan in Dhaka in the presence of Bangladesh Railway Minister Md. Nurul Islam Sujan and India’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Doraiswami.

Consultancy Services include updating the project feasibility study, comprehensive engineering design and drawings of all infrastructure, such as bridges, embankments, railway track, stations, signalling, and all other facilities.
