The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) authorised the doubling of the Nimach-Ratlam railway line on Wednesday.
Anurag Thakur, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Sports and Youth Affairs, informed reporters following a Cabinet meeting that the overall projected cost of the project is 1,095.88 crore, and the escalated / completion cost is 1,184.67 crore.
The capacity of the Nimach-Ratlam segment will be increased by doubling it. As a result, additional freight and passenger trains may be added to the system. Because of the closeness of cement factories, extra freight traffic of 5.67 million tonnes per year is projected in the first year, increasing to 9.45 mtpa in the eleventh year.
