A report released by the Confederation of Indian Industry and KPMG said that the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) is currently constructing 11 new industrial parks throughout the state that will create more than two lakh jobs in the area.
The action is being taken against a backdrop of Tamil Nadu leading among states in ICT-enabled governance, with numerous e-governance initiatives having been successfully deployed all over the state.
In 1997, Tamil Nadu was one of the first states in the nation to develop policies for the IT-ITeS industry. The sector has created a chance for the state to promote software exports and services.
