The reconstruction work at the Yeshwantpur railway station has started and is planned to be finished by June 2025.
The project is being carried out by Girdhari Lal Construction Pvt Ltd for a cost of INR 380 crore using the EPC method (engineering, procurement and construction contract). A predicted increase in daily foot traffic from the current 60,000 to more than 1 lakh is anticipated at the renovated station.
The renovated station will serve as a “city centre,” drawing tourists and commuters alike. In order to reduce congestion, there will be a 216-meter-wide air concourse with separate arrival and departure gates for passengers. The platform’s intended roof plaza will have shops, a food court, entertainment venues, etc.
