Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) is increasing copper ore production from the Malanjkhand project in Madhya Pradesh from the current 1.6 million tonnes to 2.2 million tonnes, and will eventually expand to five million tonnes in the following 6-7 years.
HCL planned to raise its total annual production of copper ore from 3.57 million tonnes in FY22 to 12.2 million tonnes by FY’29, with a target of 3.9 million tonnes for the current fiscal year.
The state-owned integrated copper miner claimed that of the 350 crore in planned capital expenditures for the current fiscal year, 250 crore will go toward the Malanjkhand project.
