As India moves past the difficulties of Covid-19 and prepares for growth, DP World wants to increase the scope of its multimodal cargo services and infrastructure presence there, according to its CEO for the Indian subcontinent.

According to CEO Rizwan Soomar, the Dubai-based container terminal operator will look at areas to establish further free trade zones, increase its coast shipping footprint, and explore chances to grow its private rail segment.

“We have set the foundation for an extremely good multimodal network,” said Soomar, who also heads DP World’s business in sub-Saharan Africa.
