Linde extends agreement with Jindal Steel in India

With Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL), one of the biggest stainless-steel producers in India, Linde has extended its long-term arrangement for the delivery of industrial gases. As of right now, Linde’s on-site Air Separation Unit (ASU) in the Kalinganagar Industrial Estate in Odisha, East India, is supplying oxygen, nitrogen, and argon to JSL.

The second ASU will be built by Linde as per the conditions of the new agreement, more than triple the plant’s Kalinganagar location’s present total capacity. The facility of JSL will be significantly expanded with the help of the increased supply. An additional supply source for the nearby merchant market, the new ASU is anticipated to begin operations in the first half of 2024.

“We are proud to develop our partnership with JSL as it embarks on a significant expansion of its stainless-steel production facility at Kalinganagar,” say Moloy Banerjee, President ASEAN and South Asia, Linde. Banerjee adds, “By building additional capacity to support JSL’s growth, we will increase Linde’s own network density in one of India’s most important industrial regions”.
