Assam discom and SJVN unit to form JV to set up 1kMW floating solar projects

APDCL, Assam’s power distribution utility, and the state-owned SJVN stated they had signed an agreement to form a joint venture to build 1,000 MW worth of floating solar projects for Rs 6,000 crore in Assam.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between SJVN’s wholly-owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL) and APDCL (Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd) in Guwahati, according to a statement from SJVN Chairman and Managing Director Nand Lal Sharma.

The announcement claims that in the presence of the state’s chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, the MoU for the development of 1,000 MW floating solar power projects in Assam was signed.

Sharma and Rakesh Kumar, the managing director of APDCL, signed the MoU.
