Amazon announces setting up offorst solar farm in India

The construction of Amazon‘s first solar farm in India has been announced. Three solar power plants with a combined capacity of 420 megawatts (MW) will be built in Rajasthan by the largest e-commerce company.

Amazon is announcing the company’s first three sizable initiatives in India in the Asia-Pacific region. The three solar plants total 420 MW of clean energy capacity and are all located in Rajasthan. These initial investments are essential in lowering our carbon footprints in India, where Amazon is rapidly expanding, the company stated in a statement.

As part of Amazon’s India plans, Amp Energy India, renewable energy (RE) producer, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) to sell RE to Amazon from a 100 MW solar power plant in Rajasthan.
