Reliance Industries Ltd. is preparing to establish captive offshore wind power projects with a starting capacity of up to 5 megawatts (MW). Gujarat is probably where the projects will materialise.
“RIL has been evaluating the segment for over a year now. Initially, it plans to set up capacity for captive consumption, with up to 5 MW, and increase later,” said an official aware of the discussions, adding that RIL already has operational experience in the offshore segment through its exploration and production division and has firmed up some partnerships in the offshore wind power segment, too.
