Prime Minister inaugurates MRPL projects worth Rs 2,510 crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a two-day visit to Kerala and Karnataka, inaugurated two projects of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals (MRPL) worth Rs 2,510 crore.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of projects worth around Rs 3,800 crore in Mangaluru, including MRPL’s BS-VI upgradation project and sea water desalination plant, and also commissioned India’s first indegenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant at the Cochin Shipyard in Kochi.

The BS-VI upgradation project, worth around ₹1,830 crore, will facilitate production of ultra-pure environment friendly BS-VI grade fuel (with sulphur content less than 10 PPM), The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a release.
