Flipkart to construct three automated fulfillment centres worth Rs 3,600 billion

{

Walmart-owned Flipkart, the largest online retailer, would spend more than Rs 3,600 billion over the next three years to construct three massive automated fulfilment centres.

For the Flipkart Group, this includes two new ones that would be developed in South and West Bengal, respectively, as well as one that is now under development in Manesar, according to Hemant Badri, Senior Vice President and Head of Supply Chain.

In the Haringhata district of West Bengal, the firm has already constructed one such big box facility, which it claims to be the largest in Asia. The Manesar one will be in use by 2024.
