TN CM Stalin to lay foundation stone for two industrial infrastructure projects in Coimbatore

At a ceremony in Tiruppur on Thursday, Chief Minister M K Stalin will formally lay the groundwork for two industrial infrastructure projects in Coimbatore.

The State government will reportedly spend 22 crore to build a workers’ hostel at the SIDCO Industrial Estate in Kurichi, according to P. Nallathambi, president of the Coimbatore SIDCO Industrial Estate Manufacturers’ Welfare Association (COSIEMA).

Five thousand people are employed by the estate’s 120 or so units, and the hostel can initially house 500 workers. It has provisions for future expansion.

The hostel will contain 550 square foot rooms that will be rented out to the estate’s businesses. In exchange for a rental fee or for free, the industries will maintain the hostel and provide the rooms to their employees.
