Various issues discussed during Chennai Airport Advisory Committee review meeting

At the Airport Advisory Committee (AAC) meeting held at Chennai airport, various issues were raised, including bird strikes and the need for more ground handlers to transport bags quickly.

T.R. Baalu, the committee’s chairman and a DMK MP, assessed issues such as ongoing construction projects like the Phase II modernization project, airside work, and passenger facilitation.

Airport modernization efforts to boost capacity from 17 million to 35 million passengers annually are under way, according to Airports Authority of India officials. Most recently, rapid departure taxiways and taxiway Bravo were put into service.
