Srex Power bags substation mandate from Vivo mobile

Vivo Mobile India has given Srex Power India, which has its headquarters in Noida, the go-ahead to construct an EHV substation in Uttar Pradesh.

According to a press release by Srex Power India, the 220kV gas insulated switchgear (GIS) substation will allow Vivo Mobile India’s manufacturing facility in YEIDA in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, satisfy its power needs.

According to Srex Power India, it faced fierce competition from other top competitors before winning the contract for the Rs. 66 crore GIS substation. It’s also thought that the impending installation will mark the first 220kV GIS substation established by a manufacturing facility in YEIDA or nearby locations.

Commenting on the order win, Sanjay Chatterjee, CEO – Operations, Srex Power India, said that project execution would be challenging due to several factors like dispatch of heavy equipment like power transformers and gas-insulated switchgear from the manufacturing plants to the project site, inclement soil conditions, pandemic-related restrictions, etc.
