L&T inaugurates new green hydrogen facility at Hazira in Gujarat

The new green hydrogen facility at Hazira in Gujarat has been officially inaugurated by Larsen & Toubro (L&T).

The change occurs five months after the business signed a joint venture agreement for the creation of green hydrogen with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and ReNew Power.

Additionally, L&T and IOC had signed a separate joint venture agreement for the manufacture of electrolysers.

The green hydrogen plant was officially opened by IOC Chairman Shrikant Madhav Vaidya.

The facility will generate 45 kg of green hydrogen per day for use exclusively within the company’s Hazira manufacturing complex.

Alkaline (380 kw) and polymer electrolyte membrane (420 kw) technologies are both used in the green hydrogen plant’s electrolyser, which has an 800 kW capacity.
