Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) has invited expression of interest (EoI) for the project to come up in Kakkanad.
KMRL is planning to implement the project through public private partnership (PPP) basis on Design Build Finance Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) model. The project comprising IT parks, medical city, entertainment hub, etc. is coming up on a total of 31.43 acres at Kunnumpuram in Kakkanad. Of these 17.43 acres have already been allotted to KMRL and the government has decided to allot the remaining 14 acres to KMRL.
It was as part of the steps to generate alternate revenue for Kochi Metro that the KMRL planned Bliss City. Earlier an entertainment and recreational hub and a Medicity were planned on the 31.43 acres.
