Uttar Pradesh to have five international airports: Scindia

With the addition of 63 air lines, Uttar Pradesh will now have 108 new routes, bringing the total number of new routes for the state under the Centre’s regional connectivity programme.

Following the launch of Air Asia’s direct flights from Lucknow to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Goa on Friday, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced that the state will soon have five international airports as well.

Speaking at the ceremony, Scindia said that the airline’s connection of a city with five cities in India via eight connecting flights is a historic event.

Lucknow is now connected to Delhi with three flights, Bengaluru with two flights, Mumbai with one flight, Kolkata with one flight and Goa with one flight in a day, the minister added.
