The Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Park named after renowned scientist Sir C.V. Raman in Srirangam, which is being built on the Panchakarai Road (Kollidam Flood Bank Road), is expected to be finished in September.
The Tiruchi City Corporation has designed such a park in an effort to spark young people’s interest in science. It allocated $13 crore as part of the Smart City Mission to build the park on a little over an acre of Corporation-owned property next to Yatrni Nivas.
The civic organisation selected a contractor from Chennai to receive the job once the tendering procedure was completed. In August 2021, he subsequently started the building.
Construction of a mini meeting hall-cum-amphitheater with a capacity of 100 seats, establishing playing equipment, building science apparatus and interactive equipment to engage the children to learn the fundamentals of mathematics and engineering are among the facilities, which are under construction at the park.
