A top official said, 66 significant infrastructure projects totaling over Rs 5 lakh crore from various ministries have so far been recommended for approval under the PM GatiShakti initiative. The Network Planning Group (NPG), established as part of the PM GatiShakti programme announced in October of last year, has suggested these projects. According to Sumita Dawra, special secretary at the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), every ministry should embrace the PM GatiShakti concept all the way down to the local level to ensure that every district collector, officer, and state is equally committed. On October 13, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Gati Shakti- National Master Plan aimed at developing an integrated infrastructure to reduce logistic costs.
