The Indian Railways (IR) plans to renovate around 40 stations as part of its station redevelopment project. Railway stations will be renovated in terms of infrastructure and passenger amenities in the coming months, according to two separate schemes.
Furthermore, Rairangpur railway station in Odisha, which is President Droupadi Murmu’s hometown and is part of the Chakradharpur division, will be renovated.
The South Eastern Railways (SER) Ranchi division has shortlisted the railway stations of Lohardaga, Muri, Jhalida (Purulia in West Bengal), Namkom, Ramgarh Cantonment, Suisa, Silli, Gangaghat, Tantisilwai, Bano, Piska, Tulin, Orga, Govindpur Road, and Balsring.
While Dhanbad railway division of the East Central Railways (ECR) has identified Garhwa Road, Daltonganj, Koderma, Gomoh, Latehar, Parasnath, Paharpur, Hazaribag Road, Katrasgarh, Choupan, Renukut, Nagar Untari, Garhwa Town, Barkakana and Chandrapura railway stations.
15 stations identified by the Chakradharpur railway division are Sini, Rajkharsawan, Manoharpur, Chaibasa, Barajamda junction, Gamharia and Dangoaposi railway stations.
