Under the Bharatmala project, roughly 35 multimodal logistics parks would be built across the country, with four slated in Maharashtra, according to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Gadkari was speaking at the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a multi-modal logistics park at Sindhi in Maharashtra’s Wardha district between the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) and National Highways Logistics Management Ltd (NHLML), a special purpose vehicle of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
According to the minister, the Bharatmala project will create roughly 35 multimodal logistics parks (MMLPs) across the country, with four MMLPs being created in Maharashtra, namely Jalna, Nasik, Solapur, and Sangl.
