With the state government lowering the gross salary cap to Rs 30,000 per month in its 75 percent job reservation policy for locals, car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) will finalise plans to build a Rs 18,000 crore new manufacturing facility in Haryana before the end of this calendar year, according to company Chairman RC Bhargava.
While the industry would have been “happier” without the reservation policy, Bhargava claims that the state government’s positive response following discussions with various industry bodies and associations has prompted the company to finalise the relocation of its congested Gurugram facility to a new location within the state.
Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki has said its Smart Finance solution has received good customer response. Over one lakh customers across India have availed their online loan sanctions within nine months of its introduction.
