21-MW captive solar plant commissioned in Uttar Pradesh

A 21.3 MW open access captive solar power facility at Bangarmau in Unnao has been put into operation by INOX Air Products (INOXAP), a producer of industrial and medicinal gases, according to a company representative.

The first specialised solar power plant built by INOXAP is also the business’s biggest renewable energy investment. One of India’s top solar energy generation developers, Sunsure Energy, commissioned the project, he said.

With a 100 crore investment, this solar power facility would provide over 3.1 crore green power units to INOXAP’s operations in Uttar Pradesh, providing an annual CO2 offset of 28,000 tonnes over the following 25 years.

Commenting on the commissioning of the plant, Siddharth Jain, managing director of INOX Air Products said, “With the commissioning of our first open access captive solar power plant in India, we have taken a giant step towards our Net Zero goals.” The project, he claimed, was completed within a record time of 9 months.
