Following the opening of technical bids by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), 16 construction firms have filed bids to build the 17.52 km Package 1 of the 62.7 km Kanpur – Lucknow Expressway (NE-6) project.
This six-lane access-controlled roadway will be expanded to eight lanes and will connect Lucknow’s Shaheed Path with Kanpur’s Ganga Bridge. It will run parallel to NH27 and include a 3.375-kilometer elevated section between Amausi and Bani, which falls under the scope of Package 1.
In September 2021, the NHAI issued a tender for its construction under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) model, with a 2.5-year timeline and a budget of Rs. 1675.18 crore.
